About Willow Tree Education

Thoughtfully designed, literature-driven resources for K–2 classrooms and homeschool families.

Willow Tree Education creates literature-based learning experiences that help teachers bring picture books to life.

We design resources that feel intentional, calm, and cohesive — the kind that turn a read-aloud into something memorable.

Our work blends thoughtful literacy design, cross-curricular connections, and a soft, modern aesthetic that feels good to teach with.

Every page, every prompt, every activity is crafted to support how children think, wonder, create, and grow.

The Story Behind Willow Tree

As a child, I attended a small school called Willow Tree Nursery School. It’s where I fell in love with teaching, and it’s the name that ultimately brought Willow Tree Education to life.

After sixteen years in the school setting, teaching, supporting exceptional learners, leading schools, and now raising two small children, I bring everything I know about early learning into the resources I create today.

  • Real books.

  • Hands-on work.

  • Clear structure.

  • Meaningful learning.

Willow Tree Education reflects those priorities in everything we make.

The Educator Shaping Willow Tree

Hi, I’m Sarah — the educator behind Willow Tree.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked as a special education teacher, assistant principal, and principal across PreK through high school. My work has focused on literacy, student support, instructional design, and helping teachers build meaningful learning experiences.

I hold:

  • a Bachelor’s in Special Education

  • K–12 Special Education Certification

  • Elementary Education Certification

  • a Master’s in Education (Autism Studies)

  • a Certificate as an Assistive Technology Specialist

  • an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in School Leadership

  • Principal Certification

My work centers on making literature-rich, developmentally aligned instruction easier to implement.

Collections from Willow Tree

The collections below reflect the primary types of resources created at Willow Tree Education. Each is designed to stand on its own, giving educators and families the flexibility to choose what works best.

  • A monthly, picture-book-centered magazine filled with connected literacy, writing, art, math, and science experiences.

Collectible, predictable, and beautifully designed. The heart of the framework.

  • A simplified take on story-based learning, focused on retelling, vocabulary, and leveled writing. Great for small-group work, differentiation, or teachers who want targeted skills without the full magazine journey.

  • Print-and-go tools teachers reach for all year: word walls, routines, story cards, and classroom visuals.

  • Hands-on activities that make comprehension, vocabulary, and SEL fun and accessible.

It all stems from one guiding idea: story-based learning should feel connected, creative, and thoughtfully designed for everyday teaching.
